Just like home! They know how to make mojitos.
Our favorites: Pollo a la brasa, maduros & flan.
The bartender was very nice & welcoming. We will definitely continue to go and recommend our friends to visit.

I came on a friend date here. I am so happy with this place! We didn't order entrees but shared a bunch of appetizers instead.

We got the empanadas peruana and columbiana(YUM!) We got the jalea and the ceviche. We also got the tostones. Everything was DELICIOUS!

I especially loved the ceviche. It was bright and tart and interesting and flavorful. The fish was perfect and tasted so fresh!

After eating my fill, I sent photos of my food to my husband and some close friends. I can't seem to shut up about it! I can't wait to come back!

Come here for a relaxed "home cooked" feeling!  This modest cocina is just that.  Came here for a weekday lunch.  There was just one other table.  The owner graciously greeted and waited on us.  The menu is simple.  Not being familiar with a lot of what was on it, I decided to take a stab and go for the Loma Saltado.  It was tasty chunks of spiced sirloin served along with tomato, onion, steak fries and white rice.  Tender and tasty!
The other dishes at the table were the fried plantains with a salsa and the Ropa Vieja (shredded steak) served with black beans and rice.  This dish had very mild flavor compared to the very tasty Lola Saltado dish.
Definitely hope they do well.  Looking forward to returning to try different dishes!

We noticed Cocina Latina has finally opened so off we went. It is located on Euclid Avenue down from Evangeline's. They are still setting some things up. They are also working on the menu which right now, is not printed in English. They will explain the items to you. They seem to have a full bar. It is a small space but I think it will fill up once they get going.

We decided to split a few appetizers. The empanada with beef which was very good, and the tamale stuffed with chicken which was also very good. These are hand made and the dough was outstanding.  Off on our own, he ordered the aji de gallena with chicken. I was able to try the sauce and it was quite tasty. It also had boiled potatoes with it. I had the Lomo Saltado which was steak with tomato's, onions and French fries mixed in with a serving of rice. Delicious.

Would I come back here?  Yes, I want to try a few different items. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Was walking in my neighborhood and surprised to see the 'open' sign lit up at cocina latina.  It is located next to Evangeline's.  I learned they have been open about three weeks.  Walked in.

The space is beautiful.  Big tables and booths.  Artwork is great.  Very relaxed feel.

The food and service are all excellent.  The chef came out to see how I liked the food, which was nice.  Had an empanada, pasta with chicken and a pesto sauce, and a sponge cake for dessert.  All excellent.

Highly recommended!  We needed this in CWE
